As members of AGS, we work within the college and the community to broaden our understanding of the world, and to learn to access the resources we have around us. Our purpose is to foster, promote, maintain, and recognize academic excellence on the Cabrillo College campus and to perform services to the college and the community, emphasizing cultural, social, and enrichment experiences as a part of the total college experience.
To be a member of the Gamma Phi chapter of Alpha Gamma Sigma, you must submit a membership application, have at least 12 semester-units of college experience and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, pay $15 membership dues, and complete 15 hours of board-offered service by the dates listed on our calendar.
You get to help the community, make friends, and have a lot of fun! You also get the benefit of having AGS notation on your transcript (a valued mark for many transfer institutions), a gold cord at your graduation, and a chance to apply for the scholarships handed out at the end of each semester.
